Are you sick of being screened out based on your resume? It seems to be a growing trend in hiring practices. If you don't match public qualifications A, B, and C you resume is thrown away. If you don't have qualification E on your resume, which by the way was not made public, then you have no chance for an interview. Of course your resume is "kept on file," but we all know what that means. So what can you do to fight back? Sadly not much unless you want to be blacklisted.
I have always considered education and drive two of the most important factors in employment selection because these qualities will lead an individual to grow and achieve. Employers today often want low educated high experienced employees. The kind of people who are good at what they do but will never grow far within an organization. They can pay them lower salaries and receive consistent performance. If a company wishes to remain complacent then they can continue to follow this path all of the way to bankruptcy. Education is one of the biggest factors in economic growth. Many employers still haven't realized that hiring new college grads will payoff in the long run.
