Does anyone have lessons that they have learned from owning thier own business? If you were to give advice on one topic what would it be?

LLC and prepare to work a lot of hours to get the ball running.

Jim you might like a forum I moderate at for small business owners. There are a number of helpful people over there. Here is the url:

http://small-business-forum.com

btw you might want to update your signature. A few things changed durring the vb3 upgrade last month and thats probably effecting it. If you need help I can fix it. let me know.

Execution. Ideas are cheap, very cheap. What matters is execution(among other things)...

There is nothing wrong with your starting making money today. In fact, you should definitely try to start making money as early as possible. Most businesses take 3 - 5 years to take off, and that might be true, BUT that does not mean that you need to wait for 3 - 5 years to see your first dollar made.

... and other thousand things.

This is another Business Forum (http://www.aardvarkbusiness.net/chat/). Very similar to Small Business Forum, and incidentally about the same size(number of registered members, posts, etc). Click here (http://www.aardvarkbusiness.net/chat/) for the link.
