I was reading about Sony's new laptops coming out. 1/2 inch thick powered by intel centrino. Notebook computers that actually are notebook sized. It sounds quite impressive but I have to wonder how durable they are with such a thin profile. Selling price is suppose to be starting arround $3000.

That's quite pricy. I wonder how good it is in terms of usability. I personally like IBM ThinkPad.

I'm sure the price will go down as soon as competition picks up. Look at how much the price has dropped in PDAs in the last year.

After griping as much as I do about dell I still like dell computers. :)

Sony products have always been pricey. And their product are high standards.
In Japan, notebooks in those sizes have been out for quite awhile and it is finally reaching to the U.S.
Never buy new released products because their price is ridiculously up there (advertisement fee). And who needs the latest technology, within months it is no longer latest.

I always tell people to wait till after christmas to buy Dell computers. I saved about $500 on my laptop buying it then.

Is there any model you recommend? I'm thinking about getting one; I kind of need it in the coming months.
