If you are a heavy internet user, you might have heard of the term SEO, Search Engine Optimization. To describe briefly, it is a set of techniques to increase the rankings of your website in search engines like Google and Yahoo. Well, only internet based businesses were looking into SEO for the last several years to increase their visibility on the web, but this sub industry, SEO, is getting as big as it creates its sub industry/sector, PR SEO(Public Relations Search Engine Optimization). Pretty interesting story; if you are interested in finding out more about it, check this radio program; http://www.webtalkguys.com.

I think google has changed a bit in the past months. I've also gotten a huge number of hits from unknown search bots which I think might be the new ms search engine but who knows. I think if you have a lot of content, are fairly well linked, and atleast have some meta tags you should be pretty well off.

And beware of those phony sites that promises to give you thousands and millions of hits and improve your ranking drastically.
