I just find it ironic how everything turned out. Imclone got fda approval and Martha is going to jail for mainly for lieing. We all know she's guilty but they way things went about were a bit off base. The case was about taking someone down and making a point rather than insider trading.
I'm not sure exactly how the sec operates but they should have just gone to court on the insider trading charge, found her guilty and got the case over with. They had plenty of evidence. There was no need to spend a year, and probably 10+ million dollars, deciding if she lied.
I guess Martha should have hired the former south dakota senators (janklow sp?) lawyer. He only got a month in jail along with probation for what he did.
Now if I were involved in insider trading, I would probably end up with 5-15 years in prison because I'm not famous... yet. lol.
