Hi,
I plan to do an Independent project in Finance next term. I am finding it difficult to arrive at a topic for the same. Does someone know of any resources (online preferably) that I can use to narrow down my search for a viable topic.
Thanks in Advance
Jat

Do you have any online resources at your university. When I was at NDSU we had online service called ABI/Inform through our library which basically had articles from just about every major business magazine and publication for the past 20 years. Your school probably has something similar.
For finance topics "the economist" is probably a good publication to look up.

Hi Phil,
Thanks for your reply. I tried hunting in economist, but dint get any closer to a topic. Could you tell me which part of the site would share that information.
Also, do you know of any source that houses some projects done by students in the past.
Thanks again
Jat

You could always try the wall street journal although you need to pay to get a subscription. Usually you can get a discounted student membership. If your taking a lot of classes in finance it might be a good investment.
I cant help you on the economist's site. Most of the articles from the economist that I read were pulled through abi/inform.
You can always read whats happing at the fed. They usually have some great info and they are pretty detailed. http://federalreserve.gov/

Hi,
If you asking for what area you should do a Finance project may I suggest Environmental or "Green" accounting. This is a subject area that that is growing, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (www.acca.co.uk) has a very good information source on their site.
