Database is a huge business; Oracle, IBM and Microsoft are big 3 in the market. I'm just curious, is this a market which will have the same power structure for a while, meaning that these big 3 stay as big 3 for next ..., I don't know 10 years, let's say? What does everyone here think? Are we going to see db like MySQL http://www.mysql.com/ and PostgreSQL http://www.postgresql.org taking a significant share in the market in near future?

So MySQL is now available on 64bit high end servers. Well, it was already available on platforms like UltraSparc, but my guess is that it wasn't that widely used before. Interesting to see how MySQL will be adapted on high end servers in the coming years.
