The other day, I was just wondering. Will paper be ever replaced? I read news on the net; also articles, but ... some things that I need to really understand, I print them out. Value proposition of paper is just great; also paper books. Sit on it, sleep on it, spilt milk, beer, wine, coffee, no problem. Drop, read under sunlight, on the beach, no battery required. You can easily pass it to your friends and colleagues and the list goes on and on. Adobe had this E-Book, but ... not very successful. Will paper be ever replaced?

Paper will always be here. Actually, ever since the computer came into my life, I use more paper than I did before!

For example, if I write a paper, I print to proof read it. No paper means no bookstores to run into like Border's and Barnes and Nobles :(

I print, print, and print stats for my fantasy sport teams as well.

I always felt that I can get a "better read" from a book or printed article instead of the computer. What about you guys?

You can't bring your monitor(even flat panel) to a coffee shop. You CAN bring your laptop but a little heavier than paper; also not very flexible. Beach ...? I wouldn't do. E-Book, PDA... not the greatest devices for reading.

I don't say that paper will never be replaced, but devices currently in the market cannot substitute paper.

You know, if you can come up something that can replace paper, maybe you can beat Bill Gates. That would be truly revolutionary.

I found a cool article about the paperless corporation in a realistic view.
