I was pretty surprised to hear the news actually. Knowing that Intel and Microsoft made so much money and they seemed to have a great relationship, I was not expecting this. Maybe this is because Intel is kind of behind the game in 64 bit micro-processor arena, and Microsoft figured that Intel is just not able to catch up with IBM any soon. Interesting move still.
