Business news, though it's probably more interesting to techies.

I was pretty surprised to hear the news actually. Knowing that Intel and Microsoft made so much money and they seemed to have a great relationship, I was not expecting this. Maybe this is because Intel is kind of behind the game in 64 bit micro-processor arena, and Microsoft figured that Intel is just not able to catch up with IBM any soon. Interesting move still.

Thats pretty interesting. I wonder if xbox 2 will be less like a standard pc? I still think If I ever buy another console system it will be a sony. Unless MS decides to give out free systems to it business partners. :)

Ok, correction.

1. Mac is a PC, not just Windows. Also it does not have to be running Intel processor. It can be running AMD and also IBM Power processor(the one Mac is using now).

2. Microsoft has done great job of porting Windows to many different processors. Power processor port has not been done yet, but it will be(or maybe they already started working on it). Current Mac OS kernel is BSD based, which (if I remember correctly) was already ported for x86 processors already(like FreeBSD and Debian?). I don't see why Windows can't be ported similarly. Plus given the size of Microsoft and great talents they have, they can do a good job.
