Hey guys,
I am thinking about teaching online courses for the University of Phoenix after I get my MBA.
Does anyone teach online or have heard stories about the salary of a PT instructor?
Any information would be great!!
Thanks,
Jim

I actually got some information from my teacher but it is only based on a Ph.D
Teachers can get paid $1000-$1500 for a 6 week class. This is coming from UOP. I would think a teacher with an MBA should get that.
$167 a week? That sounds like peanuts

Most schools don't have MBA's teaching so I think you may be out of luck unless you have a teaching degree as well.
I suppose if someone taught 4 classes at $1500/class thats not too bad.
I don't know about teaching college courses online, but I knew this one ESL school that teachers teach English online. It's like a private English class, but it's done using Instant Messenger instead of face-to-face. I don't know how well it works(or worked). There are schools like UOP, so apparently it can be done, but I do think that it can take some time to be widely adapted. Current infrastructure is rather immature, so bringing the quality of face-to-face lecture will probably take some time.
Of course, I strongly believe in the future of online education; well, I think Education needs to adapt IT more aggressively in order to bring the quality up, but as of today, online teaching ..., there are probably number of problems.

I would think language might be hard to do online unless you had a microphone setup.

I would also suggest the glossary available through HJ Ventures - provides definitions of terms to help you write a business plan:
