I'm interesting in using Salesforce.com (maybe not me but people who work with me). I don't say Windows has problems, but I do know that many people keep messing up when they use Windows; lose data, no backup, mess up email, so on and so on. Also applications like Salesforce.com allows you to access from anywhere as long as you have an internet connection. Has anyone used Salesforce.com before? I briefly mentioned it here http://mba-forums.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=96, but I'd like to know more about Salesforce.com.

Salesforce does look interesting. If you check the pricing though its still quite high. I'm not sure how it works but I don't know if I would trust some else to manage my IT software/hardware. Its nice when you can have a backup tape in your had at the end of the day and you know your data is secure.

I understand what you are saying, but most people do not make backup. They do not pay any attention to make their system secure; no patch, no update, no backup, no antivirus, etc. My presumption at this point is that we cannot have a system that requires users to keep it secure. Are these software companies trustworthy? Well, it's a tricky question, but we no longer have answering machine in our cell phone, do we? Not all but many businesses let hosting companies to host their servers (web, storage, etc). I think it makes sense to outsource security, backup, and other administration works related to IT, and especially when it comes to applications like sale automation, I like something like Salesforce.com.
